Aligning Across Watersheds: A Virtual Stormwater Summit

We’re lucky to live in a green and healthy place, but stormwater pollution continues to threaten communities—particularly communities of color—and the health of Puget Sound.

This summit explored different approaches to this ongoing challenge and asked: What are other ways to look at the problem? What does more effective partnership look like? What does it mean to put people and communities at the center? How can we define a success that benefits everyone?

Dialogue and presentations at the summit:

  • Addressed defining success by the outcomes they deliver for people and ecosystems

  • Explored prioritizing water management projects that promise benefits like equity, increased green space, fish passage, and transportation improvements

  • Reflected on the fact that stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water are all connected, and what that means for our shared efforts
