Aligning Across Watersheds: Regional Stormwater Technical Workshops

In November and December 2022, regional partners reconvened for a series of three technical stormwater workshops. These interactive workshops focused on:

  • Co-designing aspirational, regional stormwater management goals – setting implementation targets that we, as practitioners, can commit to at the watershed scale

  • Identifying barriers to achieving those goals

  • Elevating new planning tools that will help inform more strategic stormwater investments, and

  • Identifying the roles each of our organizations and jurisdictions can play to contribute to those goals

Then, in 2023, we will again gather the Stormwater Summit audience to celebrate these new regional goals and turn to how we can realize them: What sort of agreements do we need among each other to commit to these goals? What frameworks will help move us to setting and working toward goals set across jurisdictional boundaries, at the watershed level? Stay tuned for more on that.

We hope you will continue to engage in these shared efforts as we all work to cooperate more closely on regional stormwater management. With new tools that help us target our efforts, we are on the verge of significant advancements in our abilities to reduce the single largest source of pollution that reaches Puget Sound. We look forward to that continued shared work together.
